The IRS and most states have postponed the tax filing deadline for individual income tax returns until May 17, 2021. The deadline for individuals to pay taxes due for 2020 has also been extended to May 17. These extensions are automatic for every individual taxpayer. 

However, we feel it is important to point out the following due dates that have not changed as of March 25, 2021:

• The extension applies only to individual income tax returns, not to business entities or Trusts
• The 1st Quarter 2021 Estimated Tax Payment is still due April 15, 2021
• The IRS has not yet extended the traditional and Roth IRA contribution deadlines
